Can I take the Ohio LPN test? & HELP!

Published

I have partly completed an ADN program, but have been dismissed from the program.

The teacher said I didn't do good enough in clinicals in cardiac so she failed me even though I did good in all computer and written tests. Now I have been dismissed from the RN program by the nursing dept. reinstatement committee. I appeal to the allied health division and they upheld the nursing department's decision. I am now going to talk to the school ombudsman. I have excellent grades 3.55& GPA (even with my 4 credit hour F figured in) and have never failed a course. I also have a total of 161.5 credit hours at this very large community college in Dayton Ohio. Can I test for LPN without any kind of degree or diploma in OHIO?

I only need a total of 27 (clinical) hours to graduate. I am saying that I only need 27 hour to graduate with my ADN. These are all clinical courses. That is 5 - 4 credit hour courses (each 5.5 weeks) and one 7 credit hour course (11 weeks) (all clinical courses). I have completed all the other courses. I have also worked in a hospital as a PCT for 7 months and am looking at getting promoted to a different job.

I am getting a lot verbal support from disabilitly services at school, BVR, co-workers, and friends. I wear hearing aids. I am looking for any suggestions and I also want to know if I can sit for the Ohio LPN test NOW? I have 2.5 quarters of clinicals. 1 quarter - long term care, 1 quarter - Med-Surg in a hospital, .5 quarter (5.5 weeks) in a mental health facility. The teacher failed me in Cardiac clinicals (5.5 weeks) ending right before Thanksgiving Nov. 2007.

ANY help or suggestions are appreciated. CAN I SIT FOR THE OHIO LPN TEST NOW?

Thanks,

You need to go on the Ohio Board of Nursing website and pull up the application for the LPN licensing exam and see if there are instructions there that allow you to take the NCLEX-PN by educational equivalency. If they do, follow the instructions. There's a reason I left Dayton. Some of the people there have weird ethics. And people think Californians are crazy? Worst treatment I ever had by management at a job was that big hospital down on Wyoming.

I checked the OBN website again and I can't find an application to take the OHIO LPN test. I also can't find the requirements to take the OHIO LPN test anywhere on the web. CAN you help Me?

this is the application to apply for a license by taking the nclex in ohio. it is for both rns and lpns:

open it up and read the instructions. it is 6 pages long. there is nothing in there about educational equivalency. it sounds to me like they only accept applicants who have graduated.

these two sites had other information about taking the nclex in ohio. one of them included a telephone number to call if you had questions. might be a good idea to call them.

none of this information was hard to find on their site. don't know why you had difficulty.
