Someone told me that you can take the LPN test if you have completed 1/2 of a 2 year RN program. Does anyone know if this is true? I'm only asking because I'd like to know now and potentially do it this summer so I can attain a part time job as an LPN.
Sorry, but whom ever gave you that information was flat out wrong.
Years ago now NYS stopped allowing ADN student nurses to take the LPN boards after one year (or whatever it was), of classes. There was concern that associate degree/diploma students (what was left of those programs), hadn't covered all the required nursing material required for the modern scope of practice for LPNs. One area of concern was geriatrics. It is all on the NYS professions website if you wish to look it up.
