can I say I have 6 months nursing exp.

Published

I am currently employed with a LTC facility. I have been there as a GPN/CNA for about 5 months and after passing my nclex I am PRN lpn for about the last month. my question is on job apps. do I just put I worked at said facility for 6 months and position held is lpn? or do i have to be more specific? alot of places want you to have 6 months exp. that is why I am wondering. this is a second job for me as I work for hospice fulltime.

I would mention that you worked there for six months, 5 of which were as GPN/CNA, one month as prn lpn. You have been an LPN for one month, it would be dishonest and incorrect if you stated you were an LPN for 6 months.

Just be honest with your future employer...
