Hi all, I'm a first year nursing student persuing an ADN nursing degree. I am in awe of NPs and because that's what I'd like to become one day.
Could I get some advice on how to get on the right track? I'm doing well in school and I love my clinicals so far. I intend to go for my BSN as soon as I graudate. I hope to be working as a full time RN while I'm in school
Thank you all in advance.

Hi Katie!
I'd suggest trying for now to be a sponge for information and experience, as that will serve you very well as your career advances. There is much opportunity if you are willing to grab it. This site can also provide a wealth of information on various areas within nursing. As you go forward with school, you'll identify which areas interest you and then you can find appropriate mentors. You seem to have a positive attitude - so go for it!
Hi Smitty,
Thank you for the encouragement. I know I have a LOOOOONG way ahead of me, one step at a time right?
Right now my focus is on pulling an A in my nursing class this semester, get a tech job in a big hospital and hopefully get kept on as an RN when I graduate.
I just know that I don't want to stop there though. I want to keep on going with my education and I want to advance to an NP one day. :redpinkhe
