I was accepted into a practical nursing program & it was like a dream come true. Then I got a reality check once I started the program & now I feel very overwhelmed.
Its not possible for me to study the amount of information in each chapter we review without staying up all night or getting burned out. After doing some research online, I discovered the "review & rationales" series of books by Mary Ann Hogan.
Her books have great reviews so I decided to buy one & it appears to cover the most important concepts in each chapter/subject without going overboard. There's still a lot of material to study in her books but its not nearly as daunting as my textbook. Is it possible for me to get by in nursing school by studying primarily from her books & only using my textbook as a back-up or reference? Has anyone done this & maintained a passing grade?

It's probably best to stick to the books that your instructors have listed on their syllabus. Just my opinion.

Yes it is possible. It helps to look at different books on a certain topic. It helped for me as well. I also looked into QUIZLET.COM.
