Hi everyone,
Im new to allnurses and thank you taking the time to help me. I currently accepted an offer to work in a small 10-14 bed ICU/Critical care unit. I am very eager to know if I will be able to get into CRNA school with this current job. The hospital is a small community hospital of 170 beds. I was wondering should I just get an year experience here and apply for a Level 1 trauma center ICU? OR do I have a shot at CRNA school with the experience from the small ICU? I have always wanted to become an CRNA, DNP but it seems its taking a little longer than I expected to get the right experience. I was working in a IICU for a year before i relocated to accept this current job offer. Any advice will be helpful. I am beginning to feel like my dream of becoming a CRNA one day is way out of reach and its becoming depressing.

thank you NRSkarenRN, that was very encouraging to read. I'm hoping that CRNA programs will accept my experience as well.

It all depends on your other stats as well. If your stats are good your experience should be fine.
