can I expect confirmation of application?

Hey All,

I wanted to thank you all for the insight and feedback. So now that I am sending these apps in....How soon will I hear something from prospective schools? Will they send me a confirmation that they have received all of the required paperwork and that I am being considered for interview or will I just have to wait until I am invited for an interview? I have considered contacting each school, however decided that I might get better feedback from you all.

Thanks!

EDIT: Just relized what forum this was in :imbar :imbar :imbar

Iwould call the schools and confirm that they have received your applications and ask if there is any other information you could provide and when you could expect to hear if you're going to be invited for an interview. None of the schools I applied to sent out conformations automatically. One of my coworker's applications was lost and she didn't check with the school until after the application deadline. The school made her wait until the next year to reapply.

Hope this helps

Best of luck to you!!

Definitely, call and check on your application. This will serve two purposes.

1 - you will be sure they receive your application and find out what, if anything is missing from your application folder

2- If you are lucky enough to speak with the director, it will help to have them hear your name spoken out loud and not just see it on paper, it also shows you have a real interest in getting into the program.

good luck

Some schools also have an internet database of all the applicant's and the status of thier application. You may want to check with that particular Nursing School's homepage. I recieved a post card from one school saying they had received everything and had to call the other's to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I agree with gooser about them knowing your name, it helped a lot that I called a few times and spoke with the same person ... she even gave me insight into the interview process and what to expect.

good luck!:)
