i applied for nclex for the stae of vermont. they already received my application and has sent me mail in which it says that i have to return it to them for me to be approved to sit for the exam. i still did not mail it back to them. im having second thoughts. i really plan on working on cali and the reason why i applied for vermont is the fact that they approve faster than cali. i plan to do reciprocity but one of my frioends told me that if i do that, i'll pay two taxes...for vt ot for cali. is it true? if it is, can i cancel my application for vermont and apply to cali?? please help me. thanks

You should be able to take the test in Vermont, because the NCLEX is a national test, and apply for your license in California. California will take the results of your test taken in Vermont.

Have you already paid for Vermont? If you have then you may as well continue with them and then, if you get a hard license, endorse to CA. You do not pay 2 taxes, totally wrong information. You will have 2 license if you go the Vermont route and then CA.
There are a few threads in the International forum that answer this seeing as you are a foreign nurse. CA will not issue you with a hard license until you are in the US with a valid work permit
