I'm a HIV+ RN, and want to do travel nursing. One of the agencies I'm looking into requires a physical form for a MD to fill out which contains an area for he/she to vouch that the applicant is "free of communicable diseases." Will I be discriminated against in consideration for employment? I am wondering how/why this may be legal in the age of HIPAA? Are there any HIV+ travel nurses that can provide guidance? Have already done a large internet and bulletin board search.
Thanks.
