Hi,
Wow, think about it, you may want to even rephrase this request...what if the topic I suggest is one that you hate?
In order to do your thesis is really should be a topic that you are intersted in. It can be a topic that you choose, that is brand spanking new that I would never think of.
Now, how about we help you find your OWN topic for thesis.
1-when is it due, how long do you have?
2-what interests you most?
3-need it be quantitative or can it be qualitative?
4-when is your research proposal due for IRB?
5-do you have one or more research advisors?
6-have you met with your advisor?? this could be REALLY helpful becuase your advisor's rep is also on the line as she/he is guiding you
There is more to ask in order to help you but, I don't want to hit you with it all at once.

it is quantitative... cosmetic surgery was my first interest but my prof disapproved it... the first title was "level of accenptance of cosmetic sx on my university.. but the prof told me that why is it so??? it is not applicable coz there's no students yet undergone cosmetic sx in our university...
my 2nd thought is the coping mechanism of nursing students in their studies... what you think??? and once more, the research shoukd not be experimental coz it may take a long time... can u pls suggest a topic??? pls... i haven't meet my advisor yet... coz i am having my related learning duty in a community for community health nursing... pls help me... i need your suggestion

You will probably get a better and more willing response if your request doesn't sound like you want us to do your homework for you.
What is your level of education? Is this a term paper or a true thesis? What parameters have you been given regarding length, subject matter, supporting materials, etc.? When is your deadline and how long have you known about it?
What topics have you considered? Are there certain areas that do not interest you?
What have you invested in this assignment so far?
If you are nearing graduation, you should be easily able to come up with a list of possibilities for your paper. I don't think any of us would object to helping you narrow down the choices. Another member might be able to suggest a particular slant on a subject that you hadn't considered.
But asking us to come up with your topic from scratch without showing any effort on your part is going too far. I didn't say that you haven't put forth any effort, only that you haven't shown any to us.
I don't want to discourage you. Most of the members here are only too glad to offer assistance and share their knowledge and experience. I hope you will come back with more information so that we can do just that.

Hi again,
Okay, so are you doing a literature review or a survey?
I think that when she asked, "why is it so?" She may have meant that your question needed to be more specific. That is commonly a difficult thing to do but, the more specific your question the less trouble you will have with all your research because you will have that narrow focus you need to complete your project.
I think that your choice of "coping mechanisms of nursing students" could be very useful yet, that it needs more direction, like a full sentance.
Where do you want to go with this, is it:
1-What are some of the successful coping mechanisms the average student at XYX university uses to destress during XYZ's nursing program?
2-What do students feel would better help them cope with the stress of nursign school?
3-Which coping system is the most succesfful for helping nursing students destress and maintain school success?
or even
4-Whichever other direction you feel you would like to pursue?
If this is a survey you can use Survey monkey dot com and send flyers out, (even to here possibly if the mods give permission) and direct your classmates or even classmates at other univeristies to.
edit to ask: could you please use full words, I apologize but, I am not used to text messaging or reading abbreviated words, my apologies...
I see you posted while I was responding to your first message.
can u pls suggest a topic??? pls... i haven't meet my advisor yet... coz i am having my related learning duty in a community for community health nursing... pls help me... i need your suggestion
Have you asked other students what kinds of topics they have chosen?
If you are finding it difficult to come up with a suitable subject, can you see that, having even less information than you do, we will struggle even more?
Do you have a written version of this assignment that you could post? How long do you have to complete it?
thanks gennaver... u are really a big help... you may think that i know nothing... i just want to tell you that i really not feeling well for one week because of stress... i'm from philippines and the strategy of teaching here in nursing is somekind inhuman... they keep on stressing the students to the point that we almost not sleeping just to cope up... that's why i can't focus....
go back to research... the research should be quantitative and basic research... i keep on thinking on how to make my research to become simple and specific....

Hmmm,
Quantitative is testable right? So, they are requiring an experiment? In this case you cannot do just a survey, you must do something measurable.
How about asking a group of 15 or so students to commit to walking for 20 minutes a day for 3 days a week or so and gaining their sujective perception, via a survey of stress at the end of a month or so, and a group who does not actively add those 20 minutes of walking.
I would not ask the group to avoid any exercise, just not too add the intentional 20 minutes a day for three days a week.
Again, I understand that you are stressed and possibly not a native speaker of English but, I do not understand the meaning of some of your sentances. Such as ...you may think I know nothing...What does this mean?
i'm on my first part of the research.... my title defense is scheduled on first week of december.... cosmetic surgery is really my choice.... my 2nd choice is coping mechanism of nursing students.... can u help me simplify specify it...
don't mind that sentence...
professor told us that we should not use experiment... it should be pure survey.... and coping mechanisms topic really need experiment. isn't it??? that's why i'm thinking of another topic that can be answered by survey....
Okay, I see,
Pure survey. You want it on cosmetic surgery, got it.
Now, what about it?
1-patient pre-surgery views?
2-nurse's views?
3-community views?
4-patient post surgery satisfaction?
We need more than just "cosmetic surgery". What is it about cosmetic surgery you are interested in.
You really need to give more complete thoughts so that we can follow you.
Thank you,
Good luck,
