Can you get tuition reimbursement from an American Hospital if you go to NS in Canada

Published

Hi,

I want to move to the US when i graduate...im going to a nursing school in Canada. If I immigrate and get a job in the US at a hospital that has tuition reimbursement, would I be applicable or is that only for people that graduate from USA nursing schools?

Also, Im pretty sure the answer is going to be No, but if I end up paying off all my student loans by the time I graduate, are you still able to get tuition reimbursement because you still paid for tuition but its just paid off? Or is it only applicable if you currently have an outstanding balance on your loans?

Thanks!

Speaking from my experience here, Tuition reimbursement usually comes into play after you are wokring for the employer/hospital...It usually is used as you are already working and going to school (simultaneouly), they pay you back for the classes you pass.

I have never heard of a hospital paying your student loans off after the fact, expecially if you hadnt been working for them while you were in school.

Many places have sign on bonuses that you can put in towards your school loan, but the hospital just wont be paying off your loans that you accumulated before you started working.

Maybe someone can come along and tell you more...good luck!:monkeydance:

The only employer that I know of, that pay's off student loans is the federal government and the military. And you just get a portion of your loan forgiven for every year you work or enlist.

At my hospital they would definitely pay off your loans.
