I am currently working as RN.. and planning on going back to school for my NP, however I have been having a lot of second thoughts.. about perhaps going back for PA program... I know this sounds HORRIBLE for any nurse... but the reason I feel this way, is because PA have more clinical as well as didactic experience. I was wondering if any more can help me answer my questions... while doing clinicals in NP program... can I request MORE clinical hours

I'll bet most schools would let you keep signing up for clinical courses long as you keep paying up.

Many of the people in my program got double the hours. Currently I am getting a PM in psych and am required to get 180 per semester and so far this semester I have over 200 and am doing an intensive week next week where I will get about 50 more.
Do you have to work or can you just "do" school? If you don't have to work you can probably get as many as you want. I have had to wrok full time but still make the time.
good luck!

I did as many hours as I could during clinical. I only took a few days off over winter break and continued to go to clinicals several weeks after I had reached my required hours. I also did some weekends at one of my placements. If your placements can accomodate you, then you can do as many hours as you want.
