i just recently passed my NCLEX for the State of California.
Noted that I am given 3 years to secure my US SSN.
The problem is, I still don't have enough hospital experience to be able to work in US.
I heard from a friend, you have to send a letter of extension.
With this regard,is anyone there who know how can i secure an extension?
or to whom i will address the letter and what is the content?

Much has already been written about Ca and SSN have you tried searching for them?
You need to write to BRN before your 3 years are up because you will not get a SSN before then at the moment due to retrogression. May want to consider before your 3 years are up on changing to another state just in case

Hi! what state gives temporary license? and if i have that temporary lic, can i renew it?
A lot will depend on which state you apply to for initial licensure. Some will not renew without a SSN. Which state are you looking at working in and are you aware of retrogression and the long wait?
thanks for the response. yes, im aware of the retrogression, thats why i need to have i license that i can renew if i still cant go to us. i already passed the cali nclex.last jan 2008. and 1yr, 2mons for now it will expire.
many states now will not issue a license without proof of legal residence in the US. It isn't too important to get one until in the US, the main thing is maintaining the state requirements and once you are in the US with a valid work/immigrant visa and a SSN is issued a license will be issued by the state quickly once they receive the SSN.
is it early for me to ask for an extension of my status?
and it is ok to change my state from ca to az? and how can i change it? thanks
does az bon give hard copy of license?
Wait approx 6-8 months and then ask for extension
You still need to meet AZ requirements for foreign trained nurse which involves CES
It states on their website that you have to provide proof of residency before license is issued. Just check out their application process it is all written there
