Can i check if I passed right away on the LVN online verification of license?

Hi... I just took my PN nclex on Monday. I'm from California so we don't have the option of paying 8 bucks to get our results right away. I was wondering if my name would pop up on the online license verification where employers check the status of pn licenses before getting my letter. Please let me know anybody. BTW my questions stopped at 205 and that's not too much to hope for I know.:stone

You will need to wait for the letter to arrive that informs you of whether you passed the NCLEX. There is no way to verify your LVN licensure online in California after taking the NCLEX, simply because you have not been issued a license in the first place. Even if you have passed NCLEX in California, you are still "unlicensed" until you pay the BVNPT $120 for your license.

The California BVNPT does not issue you a license number until they cash the $120 check or money order that you send them. Here's how it works (assuming you passed).

1. You receive the passing results in the mail.

2. You mail a copy of the passing results, along with the $120, to the BVNPT.

3. The BVNPT (Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Technicians) cashes the check or money order in the amount of $120.

4. Once the BVNPT processes your check, they'll post your license number on their website and send you a hard copy of your license.

Sorry to disappoint you, but it appears as if you will have a whole lot of waiting to do before you find out anything.

Thank you so much for all that information... I've been checking every 5 minutes on that employer online verification hoping against hope that my name will show up. I guess its much different for RNs than LVNs. It was an RN that told me I could go online and find out if I passed or not. If you have any other random information that you have I am open to anything. The waiting is driving me mad.

I live in California, too. I tested on Feb 20, received my letter on March 14th, and personally took my $120 to the board on March 17th. I live in Sacramento. Today is March 30th, and I still have not received my license and my name is not on the board's website yet. Another thing, my check for $120 has not been cashed yet. So enjoy, because it's a little bit of a wait here in California.

The LVN board of nursing in California (BVNPT) is a separate entity from the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN). The BVNPT still operates by way of snail mail, whereas people who took the RN boards can verify online.

Don't automatically think you failed because you got 205 questions. One of my classmates got 205 the first time she took it & failed. The second time she got 205 again & cried for the 2 days while she waited for her results (we live in one of the states where we can get them online 2 days after testing). She passed! Keep your chin up. I pity those of you who have to wait so long & hope your news, when you get it will be good.:yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah:

Don't feel bad I went through all 248 questions in 242 minutes on my BVNPT state board exam! I'm stressing my tail off because Nothing looked familiar or even close to what I learned in my 18 month program.

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I left the test site! I hope I passed, I put so much hard work into going through the program and getting A's and B's it would crush me if i didn't make it after coming this far!
