Every Agency I Have Ever Worked For Pays Weekly...you Can Get Travel Pay, Housing Stipened (that Means They Give You The Money So You Can Find Your Own Place)..sometimes Even Bonuses...they Even Have Direct Deposit..i Am An Lpn And Have Worked For National Healthcare , Valley Healthcare, Trav Med Usa, American Mobile...during The Years...just Ask All The Questions You Possibly Can Think Of From Several Different Agencies ,then Take The Best Deal At The Place You Really Want To Be In..some Recruiters Sorta Push An Assignment On New Nurses Because They Just Do Not Know The Ropes...it Is Hard For Lpns To Get Good Travel Jobs And Hold Onto Them For A Long Period Of Time..some State You Are Able To Do More Than In Other States..just Depends...i Was An Er Nurse And Med/surg Nurse For Over 12 Years And Now I Am Doing Hospice And Acute Care...its All Different In Some States..best Of Luck To You

I have found looking for a company is very confusing.

They all offer the basic things, housing, insurance etc.

I decided for myself I needed good insurance for my family so that is what I investigate in a new company. I have looked a MANY!!!

You need to ask questions and decide what is most important to you.

A very good resource is "Highway Hypodermics 2007 Travel Nursing Guide" By Epstien Larue

She is a travel nurse and I really like that book.

Hope this helps.

Thank To Everyone For Their Help.

i started out with preferred healthcare staffing (this company is affiliated with american mobile, medical express... amn network). my recruiter was great. however, my contract was canceled. my recruiter tried very hard to find me an assignment in the states where i wanted to be. nothing was going through fast enough.

i visited the website rnvip.com. i saw where a traveling agency called integrated nursing alliance, inm (www.inanursing.com) had an opening in the state i wanted. i am more than pleased thus far with this travel agency. from day one my recruiter was on the job, he was fast in getting my profile together he is awesome. i received an interview that same day and was offered the job. when i leave phone calls he expeditiously returns my phone calls. they are very punctual in all aspects thus far. his assistant is incredible also. my assignment starts oct. 6.

well good luck to you in finding your travel assignment.

I have traveled for several years, I will NEVER travel with any part of American Mobile. Had two very bad experiences in a row! I have found that Cirrus is great, TNS is good and Faststaff is good. I think it depends on what you are looking for! just start calling and find the recruiter you " click " with. TRAVEL TRAVEL TRAVEL, it is the BEST way to expeience nursing!!!

I was considering RNVIP.com. I came across the website which takes your one-time application and submit it to multiple travel agencies. The process sounds efficient...but I've read a couple places where nurses were slammed with phone calls from recruiters.

I have been VERY happy with Supplemental Health Care - my recruiter got my info together and submitted me, even though I called after she had submitted 14 others for the same job - and I got it! My direct deposit took effect the first week, even faster than promised, and they've been excellent about returning my calls and addressing my concerns.

On the other hand, last year I had a less-than stellar experience with Aureus - can't recommend them at all, sorry to say.

Plan ahead, don't take things for granted, ask questions, be prepared to work hard and frequently get the assignments no one else wants - you might just like them, I've found I do! And don't forget to have fun ;>
