Can anyone tell me what the difference is between a STNA and a CNA?

Nurses General Nursing

I have seen several different job advertisements for both of them, but I don't know what the difference is. I am taking a nurse aide course next month that will lead me to certification if I pass the board, which if I understand right is a CNA. But I am still lost as to what a STNA is.

Thanks for any help in clearing my confused and boggled mind. :uhoh3:

I believe STNA is a state certification, I think usually both interchangeabe but not 100% sure.

STNA is state tested, CNA isa certified. Here in Ohio, you have to be state-tested to work in LTC. I am not sure of interchanging them, never came across that before.
