can an agency company ruin you for a hospital?

I was with an agency a couple years ago in San Diego and had did flu clinics with them and they were happy with me. Then I was going to start picking up shifts at a certain hospital and was continually cancelled. One day there was confusion about what day I was actually available (no confusion to me) and they called me to confirm a shift on a day I wasn't scheduled. Of course I was busy and they took it that I wasn't available for a shift I was supposed to go to. I called them later and I was told that they no longer wanted to work with me.

Needless to say I was horrified and very upset after my service with the company , but what could I do.

Now I'm wondering, if I'm with another company wanting to work at this same hospital, will I be OK or did this other agency ruin my name? This is so unfair.

Thanks in advance.
