Ill try my luck over here and see if anyone has any info was browsing around on the internet and discovered CMI here in orlando I called for info in the LPN program I was told that they required a 45 in the TEAS and they have a evening class from 6pm to 10pm beginning in january 2014. Location is about 20 mins from me. Con is the program is $21k but has full fed finicial aid. I asked about NLN accreditation and the director told me they have it. Now I know there are other cheaper programs but I was curious as to if any ABN members have graduated from the LPN program? Or knew someone who had? Or currently in the program?

Yes I had my run ins with I was told this during my meetings and once I started it was nothing like I was told. If you want to see if a school is truly accredited check the florida board of nursing website. It's a half truth half lie kind of game and if you don't peep it you go for it. Cambridge has accreditation from some other places but not NLN or CCNE which is needed if you plan to move on. It happened to me I was told my lpn credits would transfer to the CC and guess what they dont, the CC accepts the LPN License itself.

I started January 2014 and first set of clinicals began sept 2014. However there were a few courses after that where we would have lecture for like 2 weeks and then go back to clinicals. Also I started with a class of 11, it me and another girl from the original class and then 2 drop ins (someone who failed or left and had to retake the course) so it's a totally of 4 of us. We actually tweeked our schedule some classes with the director of nursing approval. I'm in OB clinicals right now and guess what? we don't have a clinical site so we are at the school 2 nights and saturdays doing book work. The manniquin that's in the lab is broken so it doesn't simulate birth anymore so we are watching youtube videos. End of this month until 10/21 I'm in pediatric clinicals thank god we have a site but it's only on saturdays we still have to come to class 2 days during the week to fulfill our clock hours.

Thanks so much for all you've shared. I appreciate it. I will most likely try and start Cambridge in November of this year. (Fingers crossed) Hoping that year fly's right by! lol

I almost started Cambridge PN program last year, and I am glad I didn't. 21k for your LPN?! And the building is on top of a bank! I couldn't believe I had to walk into a Bank of America and take the elevator to get to the "campus". And the school IS NOT regionally accredited. Meaning those classes you take there will not transfer out to any other school.

Unfortunately, Cambridge is the only school that offer's night time hours and clinical rotations for your LPN. People pay for convenience. Most ppl need to continue working while in school, which means that this school will remain beneficial to some.

I do agree with your statement though. I thought the same thing when I entered the Bank of America. Scary feeling.

Very true! That's why I was going to attend their program was for the convenience, but instead I finished my prereqs and now I am starting Valencias ASN program! I wish those for profit schools would be shut down, or at least forced to lower their prices and up their quality of education!

That's awesome! Was there a waiting list for Valencia's ASN?

No wait list! I applied in July, got accepted in September and I start January!
