Calling all students of GSU, CSU, and GGC

U.S.A. Georgia

Georgia Gwinnet College is fairly new. So I am not sure if much people will reply at all. But I am asking for both Clayton State, Georgia State and GGC.

Is there anyone here in the nursing program or was in the nursing programs at one of these schools? What is or was it like for you? How was your schedule? Did you get to choose your own?

I'm looking to applying to these schools. And the schedule means a lot to my admissions. I don't want to go in more than 3 or 4 days a week.

I will be starting GGC's nursing program for this upcoming spring semester, so i do not know a lot about it in terms of what to expect academically, but i can answer some of your questions about the schedule. Once you are accepted into the program they will register you for your courses, you do not register yourself and pick your schedule. So far, my schedule says I will have class about 4 times a week including the clinical day. I heard from a student already in the program that you will either have clinical on Monday or Tuesday and that those days change each semester.

Pretty much every BSN program is full time and you do not set your own schedule.

I just finished my first semester at GGC. Clinicals were either on M/T from 7-7. The opposite day you usually have open to study, but they can call you in for extra practice in the lab. Then you have classes the remainder of the week. Second semester, you have classes on 2 days, a clinical on one, leaving one day completely off and the opposite clinical day. The program is a flipped classroom, so you do all your learning before you get to class via ppt, videos, readings, and then you do more hands on things or review during class time. Attendance is required. Hope that helps!!
