Calling July 8th test-takers!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hi guys! Just drop by. We need each others support now and prayers, too!

Thank you so much Katy!! You're taking yours tomorrow? I know you'll kick butt!

I took mine this morning and left the test center knowing that i failed. I feel like i guessed most of my answers in the exam. Completely dont remember studying any of the questions besides maybe 5-8 questions.

Good luck!! "With God, all things are possible".

mizznurse, I am taking mine tomorrow! Super nervous. did you do the PVT trick? I am sure you did fine! :) I have heard so many people say that they hardly knew any answers for sure and all those people passed so it is probably a good thing! Any recommendations for us? lol.

Yeah, i got the good pop up. My anxiety decreased. lol. I felt somewhat relieved.

I can't wait for the official results.

Tips..

i had so many random question formats. about 5-8 SATA, lots of prioritizations (who do you see first, what should you do first), about 3-4 diet questions (mostly renal disease qs.. i probably kept on getting it wrong lol), few meds, 2-3 EKG strips (darn.. i didn't study this at all), 4-5 conference questions, 1-2 exhibit questions, discharge teachings. All format questions i felt like i got in that exam.

Just don't let your anxiety take over you. I think the exam is mostly on stock knowledge.. if you know the content, you can answer it.. the test taking strategies (from kaplan) you can use for questions that you have no idea how to answer. Remember your ABC's and common lab values (hgb, hct, electrolytes). For questions asking for follow up- THINK complication. dont pick the expected s/s.

Hmm what else.. the way the NCLEX window looks like is extremely similar to Kaplan's. Just think that you are just taking another Qbank or Qtrainer.. but try to do your best. don't overthink and read beyond the question (NEVER do this). Most of the time you will be left picking between TWO answers that looks correct. Make an intelligent guess or choose the best answer (usually it will be something that the nurse can do.. promotes safety to the client)

I keep getting questions after 75, and i knew i was gonna go all the way til 265 questions.. but around question 78. it shut off. I knew i got the last 3 questions right. I really felt defeated. i wanted more questions. :/

Went back to the hotel.. didnt wanna do the PVT, but my mom forced me lol. Got the good pop up. Hopefully it's accurate.

Good luck on your exam KATY!! And don't forget to pray.. and take a break if you feel overwhelmed and you have to during the exam. :D

Good luck to everyone taking the exam tomorrow, God is with you all the way and I know you will do well. Be confident, relax and take your time.

suchababe. try to do some relaxation techniques. I think it would really help when you take the exam when you're calm (so you can think straight). You can do it! you got through nursing school... you can do this! Keep telling and believing that your hardwork, capabilities and knowledge will get you through this hill. I will pray for you! Good luck! keep us posted! :heartbeat

one thing i worry about right now is that i wasnt able to try finish qtrainer 6 & 7. i wanna finish it but with the anxiety im feeling right now, i cant even move upto questions. i cant think right anymore.

ive read the thread about the conference questions. do you have any tips on how to deal with such kind of questions? thank you mizznurse!

Blessings to you all! I am a foreign trained nurse from Ukraine. I took KAPLAN and passed NCLEX-RN with first attempt with just 75 questions. I was practicing Q-bank over and over.

Thank u username!

Finally came this day.. GoOd luck and God bless to all whos gonna be sitting today! Hoping that this thread is gonna be filled with good news by the end of the day. Lets all pray!

most of my conference questions are about teaching.. for example: you're a nurse in conference.. which one would you include in your teaching about normal part of aging? something like that. approach it like a True or False question.. it's hard though if you dont know the content. goodluck!

I suggest you do the QT 7 atleast. it's long, but it makes you used to being able to sit up to 256 questions. To be honest though, none of the stuff i studied were on the exam.. maybe only 10%.
