California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) ABSN Fall 2023

I submitted my application last month and have received my evaluation. I have a total of 43 points. I am curious as to when we will receive our acceptance letters. I'm so eager to hear back! 

This thread is for everyone applying for the CSUSM ABSN program, Fall 2023. I hadn't seen one, so I thought I'd make one! Feel free to share your stats, ask questions, exchange information, and discuss your experience. Best of luck to everyone!

Did you ever receive an email confirmation that your application was received? I received an email about 24 hours after submitting my application. Since you go to CSUSM, when you go to your student center page, do you see a pending application for Fall 2023 at the bottom? 

If you have confirmation your application was complete and submitted and haven't received your points, I would email them ASAP.

I am just realizing I should have worded this differently. I have one but it shows 0 points as I was still completing pre-reqs/my bachelors at the time of applying. I haven't received an updated eval sheet even after updating my transcripts.

On the ABSN info page, there's an FAQ question that kinda covers this. It says:

"Can I apply even if I have not completed all of the Pre-Nursing Core coursework?
-Yes, you can apply to this program at any time. However, we encourage you to wait and apply when you have started your final semester of prerequisite courses. Because we operate on a rolling admissions process, your application will stay on file with us for one calendar year from the date you apply. Once your file is complete you can be ranked for admission and you will be considered for all cohorts we admit for during the 12 month period in which your file is active."


So, if you finished your prereqs and bachelors in like, December, and they haven't updated your points, I would email them. I would have emailed them before the early March application due date to make sure I would be considered for the Fall cohort.

If you plan to graduate or finish your prereqs after the March deadline, then the next possible cohort you could be considered for is Spring 2024.

I don't know your situation exactly and I'm not a counselor so I wouldn't take my word as bond, but this is just what I gather from the information available. I hope they give you good news, if you do choose to shoot them an email! ?

Thank you for your input! I had completed my pre-reqs and bachelors by December and provided them my updated transcripts and wasn't positive about how eval sheets worked after that. I honestly wasn't expecting to hear back about it sooner than April/March since I saw the application deadline wasn't until March and couldn't find info about when we should expect to hear back from them. I am just now seeing this thread of people receiving everything including admission notices and it made me consider that maybe I should have gotten an updated one by now!

No worries, glad I could help! It's good you checked now, since it's not like all the spots are filled yet. I think it's still possible to get your points and be considered!

Has anyone received acceptances or have their student portal changed from "completed" to "admitted" this past week? Im not sure if they send out acceptances weekly.

I haven't received any updates. I'm still at "completed.”
