California State University, Northridge (CSUN) ABSN Spring 2024

Hi everyone,

I wanted to start this thread for the CSUN ABSN program for Spring 2024. I have a 3.8 in my science prereqs. I do not have any volunteer experience, but I will be getting my CNA and BLS certification this month. Application opens on June 6th and closes on August 1st (or earlier due to volume)! Let's connect here & good luck to everyone!

I'm waiting for an acceptance/ rejection letter. LOL. I thought they're done making decision but it sounds like they're keeping a few applicants on their pool in case people from their cohorts drop or decide not to move forward

Hi I'm in the same situation as you they asked me for a video about 4-5 weeks ago and two weeks ago I received an email stating my application is still under consideration and it's going to take longer. I'm Hoping for the best because this is my number one school.

Oh okay! Yeah. That makes sense. Did you ever get an interview invite? 
 

I got an interview invite way back in September. And just heard back for the first time that I didn't get in for Spring, but for Summer like 2 weeks ago. I think they will wait to send out the SIRPAF for the Summer cohort and see if they can take more people, depending on how many people accept/decline the offer.

Sending good vibes your way! They should be sending out the SIPRAF soon for the Summer cohort, and I'm sure they will see how many people take the offer or not. They will probably go from there! Hoping you get a spot!

Yes I did the video interview. But I am still hopeful that I hear back from them or for other student who are in the same situation as me.

Hopefully you get in! I heard great things with CSUN ABSN program.

I might not move forward if given a spot because of cost and distance.

but I'm hoping you the best and get into the program

Ohh I didn't know that I'm hoping for the best but it's seems like many people may accept the Summer cohort which may lead to no more spots being left I'll keep my hopes up and wish for the best.

This is all good to know! I guess we'll just have to wait. I was reading the blog from last year and it sounded like the last wave heard back at the end of November. Some got waitlisted and then got off the waitlist in December. Fingers crossed for all of us! ? 

 

Does anyone know if the Summer cohort is a new cohort or have they always had this? Thought in the past years it was only Spring and Fall.

Congratulations!! I was going to start a facebook group for the Summer 2024 cohort, however as I was about to make one right now, I saw that someone else has already made one? I'm not too sure if we should make another one, or possibly join that one? I don't think anyone has shared the link to that specific page here yet though. What do you guys think?

Hmmm. Up to you! Maybe you can make one and post the link here? Since it seems like most people that want to join it, are on here? So that it's more certain they are joining the correct one. But ultimately up to you. Or you can share the other facebook group?

I've requested to join the group, just waiting for approval from the admin. If you guys are able to join it, please let us know. If we don't get in then I will make an another one for us! ?
