Hi everyone! My name is Monica and I wanted to make this forum for everyone applying to the fall 2021 semester of CSUN ABSN. Good luck everyone ?

@mplum if you have received anything my guess would be the waitlist maybe. Students that were accepted have until the 25th to sign their letter of intent

I've been feeling so discouraged. I wanted to get into this program so badly, worked so hard. IDK if it's a sign this isn't meant for me. So many of my doors have closed. Just need to hear some encouraging words. Anyone on here try for years to get into a nursing program and finally get in?

@Studentindie honestly I tried for 3 application cycles. Each cycle after I was rejected I questioned if this was for me. Yes I cried and yes I felt discouraged because I didn’t have a 4.0 science go. I chose to focus on strengthening my application in other areas. After this I started to be optimistic about the situation. If others can get into nursing school, why not me! I can do it! To be honest, CSUN is the first and only school to give me an interview and acceptance. In my interview, I just really tried to show who I am.To God be the glory !

I can post my stats if you like, just let me know!

Don't give up!  I have gotten rejections everywhere in the past year- LACC, L.A. County, LBCC, GCC, PCC, ELAC, Mt SAC, Fresno City College, Rio Hondo College. I decided to retake classes and worked as a CNA to improve my chances of getting into a program. I was going to apply again until I found out I got into CSUN. Do whatever you can to improve your application- retake classes or get work experience as a CNA- so that you have a good chance of getting in. CSUN is the only school to accept me so far. Good luck in your nursing school journey.

Don’t feel discouraged . I’m the last person I felt who should’ve got in but I did. My GPA overall was 3.25 so not too strong I really messed up my freshman year. So I decided to do really well and step up for my science courses and My prereq science GPA was 4.0 . I did volunteer work basically everywhere and became a CNA. I got my bachelors in public health. Trust me this is a long journey and we’ve all faced rejection. Didn’t get in UCLA or Fullerton . I felt so defeated but please don’t give up . You seem like a wonderful person so please stay strong ! I believe in you ?

Just curious, those who got into the program previously, did you receive a physical acceptance letter from CSUN, like by mail?
