I am currently applying for my California RN license by endorsement. I have been working as an RN in Wisconsin for 2 years, and have a Michigan license as well. However, the nursing school I graduated from did not require a microbiology lab to go with the class. I am concerned I will not be approved for my license due to this education deficiency. One of the girls I graduated with who also did not take the lab was able to get her license without an issue, but that was two years ago.
When I called the University to ask if they had had any issues with former students obtaining their California license, they said there was never an issue until this last year. Two new graduates who were planning on taking the NCLEX and applying to California were told they would not be able to get their license without the lab.
I am now worried sick I wont be able to get my license there and move in May as I had planned. I am wondering if I should enroll in a local university and try to retake the class and lab this semester, but the class will cost about $1,500 and will be extremely difficult to take due to my work schedule (full time 12 hour nights at a hospital).
Has anyone had issues getting their license by endorsement because of missing classes/labs? And what was the outcome?

I unfortunately have heard of this issue and frankly can't believe that California is allowed to do this. Full faith and credit clause and all.
