Hi everyone, have some questions here: My NCLEX Pass Letter expired last 2010. I dont hold any license anywhere in the US. Now, I want to reactivate my file at the CBRN. One of my friend said that I have to take NCLEX again as my Pass letter lapse for 8 years since i got in 2006. Is this the new rules now in CBRN? I hope am not going to sit down and take the nclex again!!!
I hope someone can share there knowledge and ideas on this.
Thank you.

It's not a new rule just a little known regulation. There is an eight year limit in CA BRN for NCLEX passing and no license or practice as a registered nurse.
From the source:
Reinstatement of a Lapsed RN License (8-Year Renewal/Retake)Applicants for reinstatement must have once held a permanent license in California that has been lapsed (expired) 8 years or longer. The two methods of reinstatement are as follows:Applicants who presently hold a current and active registered nurse license in another state, U.S. Territory, or Canada may apply as an 8-Year Renewal.Applicants that DO NOT hold a current and active registered nurse license in another state, U.S. Territory, or Canada are required to retake the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) and must apply as an 8-Year Retake.
