grossmont &/or city college waiting list

this will be my second year on the waiting list for the ADN program at grossmont college... when i submitted my application, the school TOLD me it'd be two years, but everyone i talked to said it would be more likely one year, so i assumed that i'd get in this past fall... but, no. :(

so my question is: is anyone else still waiting on the grossmont waiting list? or if you already got in, how long did you wait? is the city college waiting list any shorter?

I have been waiting since Spring 2006. I called in Dec. and was told that they couldn't tell me where I was on the waiting list. It's so frustrating.

Thanks for the post, I am going in Thurs.....:thnkg:.....Oh man, before I new it I was scheduled, I was so busy with my other classes and work....

So the ATI Test of Academic Skills is the TEAS Test? I have a Kaplan Nursing School Entrance Exam Practice book, but I didn't really plug away (my own fault) I am getting anxious. I have my CNA, did well, I have the main Pre-reqs of A&P, and Micro done? One more Q, did anyone find out what the cut off score is????

I'm within the number of student they accept each semester but closer to the end of the list. I was told I will most likely start in the Fall unless there are budget cuts.

I just heard from Grossmont this morning asking if I was still interested in the program. I'm assuming I'm close on their list because this is the first time I hear from them in two years.

our orientation for fall was in june. we found out at the beginning of may (just a few days after the TEAS exam) whether or not we got into the program.

Do you remember around what day it was? Was it mandatory? I'm going to be on vacation through the 3rd and really hope it's not before that day.

I got an A! I think I finally understand Hesi. We lost a couple people. That is such an ugly part of nursing school. Did your class lose anyone? Did you do med surg. or peds first?

I'm so glad med surg. is out of the way. I start peds on Tuesday and I'm really excited.

i took peri-op first. we lost 7 people total, 4 from OB/peds, 3 from peri-op. it's so sad to see people that we've grown close with out of this semester/the program. :(

I'm sorry that you guys already lost some people. Why is that these people aren't in the program anymore? is it due to conflicting schedules, lack of preparedness or just because nursing is tough in general? hearing about people being dropped from the program scares me a lot.
