California nursing schools - GPA concern

Published

Hello everyone,

I am going to apply to Golden West or Saddleback College next year and I am wondering if the colleges would look at your overall GPA seriously beside the multicriteria point system. My current overall GPA is just 3.6 and don't know if it's considered "a good GPA" to get in the program at colleges.

Thank you so much for your time and good luck to all of us who are applying as well.

All I know is a co worker, (who was a CNA), got all A's in her prerequisites. She did not get accepted because as long as the applicant had met all the requirements, being admitted was a lottery. A student who eked by with C's had as much chance as a straight A applicant. She persevered, has her BSN and a great job.

Irregardless of my "horror" story you need to be talking to counselors or advisors at the schools you are applying to.
