California NPF Requirements

Published

Hello! I hope someone can help me out. I recently passed boards and applied for my NP license. I was about to submit my NPF paperwork and noticed that the Advanced Pharmacology course needed to be 3 semester units. The school I went to offered a 2 semester unit Advanced Pharm course (I graduated from Yale). Will this impede the process/will my application be denied?

Hello! Congrats on passing your boards! I moved to CA from NY last year. Despite going to a solid NP Program with a 3-credit pharm class, I still didn’t meet CA requirements for prescribing schedule II. I had to fulfill the requirement by taking what was referred to as a 3-hour pharm class, but really was just an open-book online exam. Super easy but it cost some $.

The California pharm "class" is easy peasy. I had to do it. It's not really a class.

Thanks for the feedback! Were you able to complete you NPF application? I know I will probably have to take the additional 3 hour class, but I was curious if your NPF application was accepted minus the schedule II?
