:nurse: Hello!

I am a CGFNS/NCLEX passer. I took the California State Board last April 11, 2007. I only received a notification that I passed the examination, no license was issued until I submit a SSN. Although, I have an approved immigrant petition I have apprehensions that I may not make the three (3) year deadline set by the CA board to supply a SSN in order for my license to be process/issued. My priority date is May, 2007. Currently, they are processing applicants with priority date of July, 2005.

What should I do so that my file will not be deemed "abandoned" or "destroyed"??????

How can I get hold of a SSN????

Thank you.:heartbeat

You do not have an approved immigrant petition, you only have approval on part of the package. You still need to get thru the others steps as well as have the interview with the US Embassy to be able to get the actual visa for the US.

There is already much written here about what to do since you went for licensure in CA. Please just do a search for the threads, no reason that it needs to be repeated here.

Your file from CA is going to get destroyed, you are just going to need to go for licensure to another state. Again, just do a search here.

There is also no way to get hold of a SSN#. They are not issued until you are in the US with a visa that will permit you to work. There is no way to get one any earlier.

Please read the Primer at the top of this forum for information that you need to be aware of.
