hi. i'm currently an lvn (lpn) in california. my family and i plan to move to las vegas in the near future. i want to further my education by becoming an rn, but the waiting lists or lottery for the rn programs locally are taking forever. i was wondering if anyone has any information on really good rn programs in las vegas. perhaps an lvn/rn bridge program.

i took my lvn program at a vocational school, therefore i did not need to do any pre-requisites. so now, i am stuck having to do pre-reqs for the rn program. are there any fast-track programs such as private schools for the rn program in las vegas? those schools are usually expensive, but i don't care as long as the wait doesn't keep me waiting until it's time to retire haha. if anyone can enlighten me w/ some information, that would be great. thank you!:uhoh3:

All of the nursing programs here in Las Vegas/Henderson require pre-reqs, as far as I know. I am currently taking mine and it isn't fun. I am not familiar with programs if you are a LVN, so I may not be the best to get info from, but I'll tell you what I do know. Nevada State College has an accelerated program that takes 1 year and not that expensive. Both Touro (www.tu.edu) and Southern Nevada University have programs that take approx. 18 months. They are private, so they cost quite a bit. With Touro's program you can opt to continue on for 6 additional months and receive a master's degree. Hope this helps.
