California Furnishing License

Hello 

Was just wondering if anyone has ever had issues getting a California Furnishing license because a Pharmacist did not teach them Advanced Pharmacology in NP school. I graduated from the University of West Florida in August of 2022. I got a job in California this past May, got my California NP license but have just been denied the Furnishing License because I was not taught Advanced Pharm by a Pharm D. I just lost the job I got because no one knows when this nightmare would end. I would appreciate any advice on this because at this point, I cannot practice in California. Thank you

Hi zeela,

I see you posted this a ways back. Did you ever find out what additional course work was required from American Sentinel @ now  Post University to obtain CA NP and furnishing license? I see on Post website states if students take advanced pharm prior to 07/23 a course is required that they sponsor. Do you know what that is? Thanks!

Have you found an answer to your question.  My Advanced pharm course does not meet the furnishing license requirements, and I need to take another advanced pharm course.  Do you know of anyone who has had any luck finding a course? Thanks.

Thank you for taking the time to post this information. Unfortunately, when I spoke to the CA BON education department I was informed that they no longer accept this course or continuing education units for initial furnishing application.

CA BON list of approved Advanced Practice Programs.  Contact  NP programs re availability to take just  NP pharmacology class is next best option as unable locate info on online search..

I had to retake the Advanced pharmacology course at the US University before I could get a Firnishing License. It was a 2months class and cost about $2183.   Good luck

Do you mind sharing where you took it and course info, please I'm so frustrated - I took a CA Adv Pharm in 2018. So it's been more than 5 years for me. Thank you so much, please shed light my way.

I retook the course at the United States University and it was 2 or so months class and cost about $2183. Good luck
