Hi,
I moved from CA to the Midwest to complete an associate degree program. I plan to move back to CA after graduation, but I’m not sure whether I will have completed all of the class requirements —t program is full accredited, but I know that CA has a list of prerequisites for all nursing programs, some of which I will have taken (AP 1&2, Gen Psych, Dev Psych), others I will not have completed by graduation (Micro, Chem). Does anyone know whether those courses are required for a CA license, are they just prerequisites for admission to nursing school in CA, or both? I’ll have to take them regardless so that I can finish a BSN, but I still would like to know if I’ll qualify for a nursing license in CA. Thanks!

What does the California BON say in its requirements to apply for a license there? Your answers are likely on their website.

I did not have any problems except for the fact it took three months and that was with everything done correctly. I had micro and chem, I did speak to several nurses who did not have micro and could not apply. This was 4 years ago so things may have changed but I doubt it.
Thanks. I emailed BON and never heard back. I finally looked up the CA NPA and it says you need 16 total hours of social sciences (I’m assuming that means general psychology and developmental psychology, which is 6 hours) and specifically lists A&P w/lab and microbiology w/lab.
