California BON for Foreign Graduates

Hi, this is my first thread on this site, I have read a lot of posts regarding the application for NCLEX-RN in California that the CA-BRN is not allowing foreign gradutes that are residing in California to take the board since 2010. I have a co-worker from India that already obtain the ATT just recently, does it mean that the CA-BRN changed their mind again about the regulation for foreign nurses graduates? If any of you guys have a concrete info on that feel free to comment on my post. Thank you.

It's not that the CA BRN is not allowing any foreign graduates to take boards. It's that the CA BRN has started strictly enforcing rules (on the books for a long time) about the requirements for nursing education in order to be eligible for boards, and some international graduates are getting caught in that (their home nursing programs don't meet CA's requirements).

Applicants who meet the educational credential requirements (including concurrent clinical and theory and cases for Filipino graduates) for licensing as regulated by CABRN are issued ATT to take the NCLEX-RN. There isn't a ban against IENs it's CABRN strict enforcement of a regulation more than two decades old requiring concurrent theory & clinical.
