Hi. Is anyone familiar with a situation where the Californa Board of Nursing approves someone from your graduating class with the same exact coursework as you but ends up declining you due to some deficiencies? I am sort of in this situation and want some advice. How can I fight back against the CA BON?

What were the deficiencies? Was it nursing courses or pre requisite courses?
It was clinical hours in Obstetrics and Pediatrics. The other classmate had the same exact hours as me.
I suggest you call the BON. And maybe call your nursing school and see if there's any chance that there was some sort of mix up when they sent your transcripts. Like missing info. Or it is possible that the BON just overlooked that part on your transcript.
Thank you. That is exactly what I did. Does anyone know if the CA BON considers Community Clinical toward clinical hours requirement ?

I would also contact your university where you trained and ask for a copy of the form they filled out. It's possible someone inexperienced may have written the numbers wrong.
They are pretty strict about the hours so if they want acute care, it has to be strictly acute care.

does anyone know approx. how many hours they are looking for? And is it really mostly based off that fill in the blank form the school fills out?
