Calhoun Community College 2016

Published

Hello,

I know it's still a bit early, but I was wondering if anyone is applying for the Fall of 2016 program at Calhoun?

I'm literally waiting outside for the mailman. But I assume I didn't get mine either

No letter for me. Ugh. I wonder if they even mailed them out Friday. There's no reason it shouldn't be here by now if they did.

I was thinking the same thing

They may have put them in their dept mailbox but they did not actually get picked up to leave the building until today.[emoji57] That would mean tomorrow or Wednesday at earliest. I'm still crossing my fingers that someone gets something today.

My mailman asked when they mailed them and I told him Friday and he looked at me crazy asking why I haven't received it yet.

You definitely could be right. I didn't think about that.

I'm sooo annoyed by this wait for real!

The way I understand it is the mail doesn't go from Decatur directly to say, Madison. It has to go to a sorting facility, and unless something had changed, the closest one is Birmingham. Makes a lot of sense, huh? Now you know why the postal service is going broke...

All mail I believe goes to Birmingham first. Letters will take a few days to reach us .:nailbiting:

I'm thinking that letters will be in our mailboxes on Wednesday. I don't know why they dont just notify us by email on whether or not we are accepted, then tell us our packets will be mailed to us. Or use UPS to send out letters . Oh well it is what it is, I just wait and see what happens on the next few days. Until then, there is no sense for me to stress on whether or not I get in. Best of luck to everyone on getting accepted!

I looked up past forums and it seems like the first people to getc their letters got them with two or three days of them being sent out. So depending on if the letters where picked up by the post office on Friday or Saturday we should be getting them tomorrow or Wednesday.

I agree e mailing the letters would be great !

Let's hope for tomorrow. I'm just going to expect for Wednesday, and if tomorrow is the day, then that's a plus haha. I was thinking and had a random question someone might be able to answer about the points cut off.

So how does it work exactly? If the cutoff is 160, does that mean everyone over 160 with the adequate GPA would get in? I don't understand how the cutoff is so low when there are only 48 spots to hand out. Does that make sense?

I think it's everyone over the cut off gets sent to admission for gpa, then after gpa anyone who qualifies they look at t land the top people get picked. So like if there were two people who had the same gpa, but one had a teas score of 107.2 and the other has a score of 107.3 they pick the high point person, if that makes sense.
