Caldwell University ABSN 2019

Published

Hi everyone, I didn't see a thread for Caldwells ABSN 2019 cohort, so I thought I would start one. Has anyone applied to the program ?

So did I! I think I'm going to shoot them an email. Kind of weird it wasn't included in the packet.

Same here!! Congrats to us!! Lmk what they say because even I can't search up the details. They're too vague.

Did any of you guys apply to NJCU btw? Because I can't decide between that and Caldwell now.

I applied to NJCU but I haven’t heard back from them yet. Also applied to seton hall.

So I just heard back. The program is 4 semesters but 2 years because they don’t have classes in the summer. So it’s Fall Spring Fall Spring

I’m wondering if we have the option of taking summer classes though...

If you email them to ask lmk what they say!

The Second Degree Nursing program is a full two (2) years following a Fall, Spring, Fall, Spring format. There are no summer courses. As a private institution, we have one tuition price for all commuting students and that is approximately $34,865/year.

This is the answer I received.

Just received my acceptance to Caldwell! I'm so excited!!! I'm still waiting to hear back from New Jersey City University, but it's really nice to know that I'm at least in somewhere. For those who have also been accepted, are you set on going? Do you know if there'll be an orientation sometime this summer?

Yea there will be an orientation just have to give the deposit before more information is given. I’m glad I got in somewhere too lol.

If I don’t get into NJCU, I’ll definitely go to Caldwell. I was a little upset at first that it’s a 2 year program (I somehow didn’t know this when I applied ??‍♀️), because it bugs to know that I could be done in 12 months with NJCU. But 2 years might not be the worst thing in the world...

It’ll go by fast, and since things are a little more spaced out, it’ll probably give me a chance to work a little more.

That’s what I was thinking! It might be a bit longer, but only two years from now we’ll be preparing to graduate. That doesn’t seem that far away to me! It’ll also give us way more time to learn concepts and grow as nurses, and more time to study for the NCLEX. To be honest, I think I might do better with this program than an accelerated one, but I also have to factor in cost and Caldwell is a little steep. Hopefully NJCU gets the decisions out soon so I can really start my pro/con lists!

Did you submit your deposit yet, or are you waiting to hear from NJCU and Seton Hall first?
