Hi all,
Is anyone here applying and/or attending the new BSN program in conjunction with Mountainside Hospital at Caldwell College?:)
melaniemarie
hey yes im going to be starting in the fall! are you??
Unfortunately, no. I still have to get the pre-requisites out of the way at my local CC in order to save money. Then I'll apply as a transfer student. Do you know how many credits the entire program is (both nursing and general education)? They don't have much information listed on the website. I wanted to see if I could take some of the general education courses to get them out of the way. Will you be applying as a freshman, transfer, or doing the RN to BSN? Sorry for all of the questions.
Yea i was in the same situation! i go to ccm now, and i only have A and P too left, i wanted to take stats and all that gen ed crap to get it of the way but since i was accepted into the program they only reserve your seat if you attend their school. soo you have to finish all of their requirements then start clinicals in the fall. so it adds alot of extra classses on. its 64 credits of gen ed like 2 religion class, and a bunch of other stuff. Im really in between of what to do at this point..since there is only 40 seats it scares me to wait, those seats can be taken up real quick.
oh and im a transfer student as well. and no i dont mind i think were in the exact same situation!! :)
Are you saying that the Gen. Ed requirements have to be completed at Caldwell in order for them to reserve a seat for you and they have to be completed BEFORE beginning the nursing courses? Sorry if I misunderstood. I had considered going ASN to BSN but it actually takes less time for me to go straight for the BSN at least in my case. Keep me posted!
yep. as far as what they are telling me right now. its finish the gen eds then go for nursing core classes, for 2 years. for me i have just one more class left at my cc then i would begin to years of clinicals. So at this point i have no idea what to do since caldwell is so expensive but i don not know if my place will be there if i wait. ahhh yea and ik wht u mean about the ASN. its like 2 more years plus going for your BSn after for another 2 years. VS jus going straight for the BSN. for your perspective what is the best way of handeling this going to caldwell or staing at my cc. Thanks for the help! and keep me posted on what you r going to do!!
I sure will. Have you looked into other colleges aside from Caldwell?

Hi Rose,
It has been a while since this post but I hope you can help me out...
I am applying for the Caldwell College BSN program as a second degree student to start this fall 2011. There isn't much information listed on the website so I was hoping you would be able to share some information on the schedule for a second year student? Is it 1 year or 2? What does your week schedule look like? I know clinicals begin in the fall -- is there a summer session for you this year?
Was it hard to get in to the school compared to others? How many people are in your class? Lastly how much is the tuition per year?
Thanks so much!!!
