  1. Oh ok. I read the question wrong..I was always under the impression that the child was older so the part about the delivery went over my head. Dont know how I came about that conclusion. Ok thank you.
  2. omg you are a life saver, i have been struggling with this question for weeks! lol and made the change and voila! can you explain to me how the HCP delivers the infant first?
  3. don't think so
  4. This is what it says: When a health care provider reports an infant to a county agency, the law requires the agency to take these actions: •Ensure the safety of the child immediately •See the child within 48 hours of receipt of the report •Contact the parents of the child within 24 hours of receipt of the report •Provide necessary services for the childWhen a health care provider reports an infant to a county agency, the law requires the agency to take these actions: •Ensure the safety of the child immediately •See the child within 48 hours of receipt of the report •Contact the parents of the child within 24 hours of receipt of the report •Provide necessary services for the child So I thought the order was: Health care provider reports to county agency immediately Health care provider delivers an infant with a fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. County agency ensures child is safe immediately. County agency contacts parents, sees child, and provides services within time frames set by law.

  6. I would love to do prn but u have to b employed for 6 months prior to requesting status change. Don't think Tue less than friendly hr will even grant that to me.
  7. hello all, i have a little dilemma. i am currently entering my final year in nursing with graduation date of december '13 and found a job as a cna at a local hospital to set my foot in the door so that i can have a job once i graduate. well, im quickly realizing that this part time job is going to put a strain on my studies. basically the days i am not in school are the days i will be working 8 hours. i figured make it work by using any opportunity to study as much as i can and stick with the heavy schedule but last semester i didn't have a job and i still struggled with the work load. im comtiplating, finishing up my summer job and when class restart in september, i will drop the job. im afraid however because in this economy, employers dont want to hire inexperienced nurses and being a cna, lpn or pca is the best way to get a job after school. should i stick it out for 4 months when school starts or go ahead and leave the job and attempt to reapply as a nurse once i graduate? can i even do that or would HR laugh at me? thank u all
  8. one of my issues with the degree is that in the real world, NP and PA are somewhat interchangeable, meaning that most job listing ask for either or. then why force NP to be educated at a doctorate level's and somehow still compete with master's prepared PA's? Unless the DNP puts NPs at a preferred hires, it serves no significant purpose in the real clinical world. now someone who runs their own business, or seek to become an expert in their nursing field can and should pursue the DNP; it may prove beneficial as it adds credentials. other than that, forget it.
  9. i thought as a cna u had to work under a RN license?
  10. I was let go a few days ago becauce i went to hR with a letter documenting my being bullied by the senior cnas. A week ago, the DON met with me to discuss my performance review. I had a really low score due to my preceptors reporting me for no reason other than to sabotage my work. I told her it was retaliation and explained to her that I had been bullied for quite some time. She said she would investigate and gather info from my work from other sources. I then drafted a letter (to document in writing what was going) and gave it to HR and the DON. well, a few days ago, HR and the DON called me into office, asked me to explain to them exactly what was going on and then terminated my assignment anyway. As a matter of fact, seems like they weren't interested in resolving the situation they just decided that it was more trouble than it was worth so they let me go. bummer but i can't help to feel like i was done so wrong. I live in a at will state and i was on a probationary period but what are my recourse still?
  11. bump, can anyone answer the poster aove me, i would like to know the same info. thanks
  12. hi, i am very interested in ur resume for entry level cna. can you send me one? i can't pm you for some reason.
  13. I'm unclear about whether or not it is necessary to declare a major and follow through. i read that some of you just take the needed course and then up and go without graduating from CC, but when I spoke to my advisor she stirred me towards declaring a premed major that would keep me in school for 2 years and will award me a A.S that I will not use to seek employment. I already have a BS and don't really care for an associate degree so I was asking how you all went about it.
  14. I'm sorry ladies, I'm still confused on how you all do it.
  15. Hi, I am planning on taking my science prerequisites at a local community college. They want me to select a major and I have chosen Premed/Biology since it had most of the courses I needed. Is it how it's done? You chose a major, transfer the classes you can from your BS and then take the courses. That would mean that if I pass everything I will have a A.S. Did you guys enroll as something else? I just want to make sure I'm doing this the right way. Thanks!
