Hi Chrisfelkel,

I've actually applied for the Accelerated BSN program for CSUN fall 08. I was wondering if you've heard from the school since the submission of the application. Have you gotten an invitation for an interview yet? Thanks!

Thanks for your reply Hello1984.

I submitted my application in December and all I know is that it was considered 'complete'. I called the other day and they would not give me the status of my application. The staff member said they have 700 applicants!

I assume many of those are going to be incomplete, unqualified or choose other schools. I would guess that the competition pool is more like 200 applicants or less for the 18 spots.

What has your experience been to this point?

How did you find out your application was complete? Did you speak with someone in particular??

Galore1987,

I called in January and they confirmed that all my paperwork was turned in. I didn't get a particular name, though. However, when I called a month ago, they said they were not able to check my application status as there were too many applications to do a status check for every student.

does anybody have any idea if the absn program is accredited? it says in the website that it is approved by the california board of nursing but nothing about accreditation.

I was not accepted to the program. They accepted 18 out of nearly 300 applicants.

Wow, I had no idea CSUN even offered this type of program. Though, as with all acc BSN programs, it sounds extremely competitive. Do you mind if I ask what your GPA was?? I plan on applying, but my current GPA isn't all that great.

I'm applying for Summer/Fall of 09, and I still have 3 of the major Science prereqs in progress (Chem/Micro/Physio). Is it even woth apploying now? Should I wait to have all my grades in before I apply?? Thanks!

Hi I am filling out the application for summer 2009 ASBN program. There is a place where they want your resume (including documentation of computer programs/software used) do you know what they are looking for here? A resume for the school? A listing of your computer experience?

I believe they want your personal resume which includes your computer experience. Most undergrad programs require a general computer class, I remember I took Comp100 at CSUN. I will mention this class in my resume and maybe include a copy of my unofficial transcript highlighting the class...hope this helps!

Thanks , yes I took a similar class. I wrote to them and this is what they said, "You just have to state if you are familiar with basic computer programs. For example, Microsoft Office Programs such as Word, Excel, etc." The resume part struck me as odd. I have seen very few programs ask for this....
