Coronary Artery Bypass Graft of 3 vessels (ie Triple Bypass)
Typically, the surgeon decides which blocked coronary arteries need to be bypassed. He may elect to do any number (the highest I've seen was seven, ie a Septuple Bypass or CABGx7).

A triple bypass, to put it simply.

CABGx3, essentially, is triple bypass done to reperfuse parts of the heart that are not receiving enough blood flow. Usually veins are harvested from a patients inner thighs, AKA saphenous vein grafting, and used as the bypass. Your care plan should focus on things such as: impaired circulation, fluid overload, and infection, respectfully.

Sometimes the internal mammary artery (IMA) is used. It has a better patency rate than the saphenous veins in the legs.
you may see LIMA or RIMA in the chart, which stands for left internal mammary artery and right internal mammary artery.
