So, long story short after much time and personal struggle, I graduated with a  NP/MSN degree and passed the national certification exam for my specialty--the problem is, in CA if you apply for your furnishing license >5 yrs after taking the pathophys course--you cannot get a furnishing license!  Great so I can get a NP license in CA, but not a furnishing licenses--WOW!?!

So, anyone out there got any suggestions on what my next steps might be??  I'm looking into qualifying for furnishing in other states--but that's not my 1st choice by any means.  How can I practice in CA without my furnishing license--?! should I work in a PA-like capacity under someone else's license?)??

Anyone know WOW! I need to do to earn my CA furnishing abilities I worked so hard to qualify for?!

sounds like you'll have to retake the advance pharm class. What did the BON say you needed to do to remedy the situation?

Ha, ha well, I've been corrected by my school and I'm current on coursework afterall, problem now is tech issues w/BRN website---can't get payment page to load, can't get anyone by phone, no email replies......awful!

I'm currently having the same problem. I misunderstood instructions from my school on how to apply for the NP license and furnishing number. I applied for the NP license only, which has already been processed. But now that I am trying to apply for the furnishing number, when I hit the "proceed to payment" button, my application is automatically submitted without an option to pay. Then my application is denied for nonpayment. I am at a loss for what to do because I can't get ahold of anyone from the BRN. I just want them to take my money so I can start working! I guess the next step would be to mail in a physical application with the $400, but that makes me nervous. Have you had any luck with your application?

All I can offer is that my school stated the two apps (license and furnishing) are included in one form, so you are supposed to check off "yes" when it asked if you will be applying for a furnishing license.

Maybe applying for a furnishing license separately? or try to submit a whole new app and check "yes" where appropriate?  The lack of access to ANYONE at the BRN when you have questions is just absurd.  You can also try to email them, though they never replied to me when I did before.  My app is still pending, the site says it's missing a transcript (which I've sent at least 3 times), so I'm still waiting myself--going on 4 months now!

There is now a new comment on my denied furnishing license to upload the advanced pharmacology verification form (signed by your school) to the advanced practice section. Not sure what that exactly means, but I added it to my original NP application that was already approved. The status now says "pending" so I'm crossing my fingers that this will FINALLY work!

I've had horrible luck trying to even get an RN license in Cali literally took me a full year and I tried to contact the board so many times via email/call, I would never get through on the phone and I would SOMETIMES get an email back if ever at all. It's horrible they're so flooded with applications and/or don't have enough people working there in the first place. I came to this thread because I was looking to apply for NP in Cali as well and didn't know what to do about the furnishing versus just NP application. I did see the option to apply for both at the same time when I tried to initially apply but never hit submit thank god. Hope your situation gets remedied faster than mine did!

OK, I *** u guys not, but this is what 3 different work colleagues have said they HAD to do when trying to fix license issues with the BRN:  drive yourself down there and handle it in person—everyone I talked to said they drove there in person and solved the issue same day— I've sent the BRN my official transcripts FOUR TIMES, and they still show online as missing(it's been 5 mos of this)— so my next step is to gather all my sealed official transcripts and hand deliver them—we shall see how this goes—-Unbelievable!!

This didn't work. They reviewed the form and then nothing happened. WOW!?!

What in the actual ***k?!?! I really do not want to take a "vacation" to Sacramento. But if I can't get anyone to respond to me in the next week, I guess I will be forced to!

TAAAA DAAAA!

Finally got the approval, I started this process in Nov '22, so that's close to 5 MONTHS of this..............I think I may have forgotten everything I learned by now!

I think "pending" is likely a good sign, they just don't update the app tracker on the website very often, like every 2 mos or so, mine still says transcripts missing..........still, if it's not too hard, a trip to SAC is prolly the fastest way to clear up issues w/BRN
