  1. Sorry, to clarify: I would be seeing these Oregon pts via a telehealth/virtual visit appointment while residing in CA--thnx
  2. New NP here, lic in CA, but want to treat pts in Oregon (OR won't give me licenses--long story but not for any shady reason at all--just has to do w/me having a BS and NOT a BSN undergrad degree).....wondering how it works w/tele health and out of state pts. I live in CA, but want to partner w/a friend's group practice in OR. I'm wondering what the laws are re: treating pts who are in another state--can we do this legally? Can they fill my prescriptions in OR, etc. I've looked on the CA BRN website but can't find any info, any one know anything about the rules that pertain to this situation of how I can find out.....?
  3. TAAAA DAAAA! Finally got the approval, I started this process in Nov '22, so that's close to 5 MONTHS of this..............I think I may have forgotten everything I learned by now! I think "pending" is likely a good sign, they just don't update the app tracker on the website very often, like every 2 mos or so, mine still says transcripts missing..........still, if it's not too hard, a trip to SAC is prolly the fastest way to clear up issues w/BRN
  4. OK, I *** u guys not, but this is what 3 different work colleagues have said they HAD to do when trying to fix license issues with the BRN: drive yourself down there and handle it in person—everyone I talked to said they drove there in person and solved the issue same day— I've sent the BRN my official transcripts FOUR TIMES, and they still show online as missing(it's been 5 mos of this)— so my next step is to gather all my sealed official transcripts and hand deliver them—we shall see how this goes—-Unbelievable!!
  5. All I can offer is that my school stated the two apps (license and furnishing) are included in one form, so you are supposed to check off "yes" when it asked if you will be applying for a furnishing license. Maybe applying for a furnishing license separately? or try to submit a whole new app and check "yes" where appropriate? The lack of access to ANYONE at the BRN when you have questions is just absurd. You can also try to email them, though they never replied to me when I did before. My app is still pending, the site says it's missing a transcript (which I've sent at least 3 times), so I'm still waiting myself--going on 4 months now!
  6. My understanding per my liason at my alma mater is that the initial NP license now includes the initial NP furnishing app--it's an all in one type deal. (This is my boat--I am applying for a 1st time NP license/NPF license)--so, there's no longer a fee for the initial NPF license---that's all I got, I'm still waiting to hear from the BRN today......
  7. Gee, wouldn't it be helpful if the CA BRN could at least post an update to their website re: the new NPF app process?!?! I spent about 3 weeks pulling my hair out over this, submitted 5-6 NPF apps online, never got anyone to answer the phones at BRN (by 801 am that queue was full for the day).......just ridiculous.
  8. Hi, So appearently, there's no longer a fee for the NPF license, it is part of the NP application. See my email below: Hi Caroline, I heard back from the BRN and good news there is no longer a fee associated with the NP Furnishing Application! According to our contact the BRN, "The NP and NPF application is now a combined form. The NP has an application fee. The NPF no longer has an application fee.”
  9. Thanks for your update! Oh wow! You actually got a response from someone at the BRN. I am amazed, when I got a hold of IT they said all they could fix were log in problems and I needed to call the main number. Did they give you any sense of how long this will go on? How long we should wait? Is it possible to go there in person and apply? Anyone out there know?
  10. Ha, ha well, I've been corrected by my school and I'm current on coursework afterall, problem now is tech issues w/BRN website---can't get payment page to load, can't get anyone by phone, no email replies......awful!
  11. THIS IS INSANE: I've been trying to submit my online initial NP Furnishing application for 2 weeks: the website will NOT LOAD THE PAYMENT PAGE, when I hit the "proceed to payment" tab, the payment page never loads and instead the application is submitted, of course only to be rejected due to non-payment. I've tried 5 times on different computers, different operating systems, web browsers etc--crazy thing is when I submitted my NP license application online, I had no problems at all. I've tried calling the CA BRN, which is impossible, queue is full by 815am w/no option for call backs/holds. Of course, no one has replied to my emails asking for help. Anybody else having/had this problem? I am considering driving out to Sacramento to see if I can resolve this in person, anybody have experience with this? Is it possible to get help in person? Stuck in a Kafka-esque maze of bureaucracy.........HELP!
  12. oops! sorry, meant to say adv pharma class NOT pathophys!!
  13. So, long story short after much time and personal struggle, I graduated with a NP/MSN degree and passed the national certification exam for my specialty--the problem is, in CA if you apply for your furnishing license >5 yrs after taking the pathophys course--you cannot get a furnishing license! Great so I can get a NP license in CA, but not a furnishing licenses--WOW!?! So, anyone out there got any suggestions on what my next steps might be?? I'm looking into qualifying for furnishing in other states--but that's not my 1st choice by any means. How can I practice in CA without my furnishing license--?! should I work in a PA-like capacity under someone else's license?)?? Anyone know WOW! I need to do to earn my CA furnishing abilities I worked so hard to qualify for?!
