Hi all! Took my NCLEX-RN yesterday (2/9) in Southern California. The computer shut off at 75Q and when that happened, I thought to myself, "That's it?"
There were so many questions I knew right away and so many that I had no clue. 21 SATA, no math, no hot spots. I felt so confident but as the day went on, I just felt like I had completely failed it.
I tried the PVT (even though I swore I wouldn't) and after 24 hours, still the "good pop-up." Totally not convinced yet but holding on to hope!
I was wondering for anyone who took their boards on a Friday, did you receive your results via breeze over the weekend? Or will I have to wait until next week? Also, did the PVT work for you?
Thank you!
There are a lot of posts on the PVT trick.I'm definitley no expert, but I'll tell you how I did it. First wait until 24hrs AFTER your exam. This is key. Then you go on Pearson Vue site and attempt to re-register for the exam.
You have to put in all your information again including payment information. And you submit it.
I've read some people use gift cards instead of their debit cards or wrong expiration dates, or cards with insufficient funds so they won't get charged. (Just in case) I personally used all my real card information and took the risk.
Once you submit payment (you need to press submit twice)
You will get a pop up. Either it will let you re register for the exam and take your money (likely did not pass), or it will not. (Likely pass)
The good pop up states, "our records indicate you have already registered for this exam. Another registration can not be done at this time."
The "bad pop up" could be a declined card, or a Reciept saying you just paid to take the exam again. (Basically it let you re-register)
There is also a possibility it will say a "hold" has been placed which means nothing, could be pass could be fail.
If you do this before 24hrs it might just take your money regardless of pass or fail. So I suggest waiting.
I got the good pop up and I passed. Also know that this could cost you $200.00 but from what I read and experienced as long as you wait the 24hrs it's doubtful you will get charged if you have passed.
In short if your state doesn't have quick results like mine (CA) it was worth it to try.
This is what I did. I also used all my real CC information and would have been charged $200 if I failed. However I did it at 2 hours after my exam and a few more times before the 24 hour mark. I got the good pop up every time and my quick results said I passed on Sunday....now if New York would just hurry up and put my license online.
I took my test on feb 20 and I did the pvt on the 21 st and I got the good pop up feb 24 I went to my breeze account and I saw apply for initial license application so I paid 150. I've recently moved so idk if I got my official letter stating I passed. But I called the BON and she said it takes 4 to 6 weeks for my license to become active so I guess I passed? I went on the site to see if my results were updated because the processing times said 3 to 4 weeks for my test results but it says no results available so I guess I'll wait till March 21 st to see if they would update the results on Pearson Vue. But on my breeze account it states change name , request for verification letter and apply for initial nurse licensure
question .... The same thing happen to me i called and she said 4-6 weeks before my license become active. I didn't know i had to mail or fax over my change of address so i called today to find out why the results haven't been updated online and the lady was so rude to me! She said that my letter was mailed out Feb 22 and I paid for my vocational nurse initial application for licensure Feb 24. So today i faxed over my change of address form she then said it will take 3 to 4 weeks for them to mailed out the results letter and the don't release the results online.
PVT still works. Took my test on 2/22 and did the pvt a couple of hours after and got the "good pop up". Got my results today: https://search.dca.ca.gov/
I know this is a RN thread, so keep in mind I took the NCLEX-PN. I want to share my experience in hopes it may help relieve those who were as anxious as I was when took my exam.Feb 14: took my exam, ended at 205. Hours after, did PVT and got the bad "pop up".
Feb 18: tried PVT again, got the good "pop up".
Feg 21: checked BreEZe. under the "manage your application" drop down, my options no longer included "retake exam and request and interim permit" but rather "vocational nurse initial application for licensure".
I called BreEZe customer service to confirm if the information on my account was accurate, the woman stated: yes it is, it had just taken into effect and your letter was on it's way. I then asked if I could pay for my licensure without receiving my letter yet and she said yes! But to keep in mind they no longer send out the wallet cards, so it will take 4-6 weeks to show up on your account. I paid 150$.
Now I am waiting for the formal letter that I passed and my licensure to become active
Good luck to all!
took PN last May 4th after reading your comments I went to my breeze account then on my third drop down it says vocational nurse initial application for licensure. I got good pop up after 48 hrs. Did I pass??? I haven't received any congratulatory letter.
