CA licensure enquiry

Published

Hi,i have a quick enquiry about my CA licensure.I am a foreign trained nurse(UK) now living in CA.I recently just wrote my NCLEX-RN exam and waiting for the results.I have just learnt from this forum i will not have my license issued unless i have a SSN #.I am in the process of getting my immigration clearance as my husband filed for me.If i don`t get it soon enough but pass my board ,can i get a hospital to file for a work permit for me and get my SSN ?can they have access to my results through the board of nursing?

Thanks for your help

Hospital do not issue social security cards, getting the immigration issue straighten out and you can apply to any job you wish.

You need to have the proper documentation from immigration for you to be able to work. When you get that, then you get the SSN# and then CA will issue a license for you. Without an actual license number issued, there is nothing that any employer can do for you.

Please read my response to you in the other post that you made with the same quesion being asked.
