Hello,
After graduating nursing school in 2012 I applied for licensure in California, my state of residence. Prior to nursing school I had a couple of infractions but had years of good behavior prior to entering and subsequently graduating nursing school. Obviously this did not matter and after a 2.5 year battle I was finally given a heavily restricted license with a 3 year probation period. At the time, my wife was about to enter nursing school and we could not afford for me to go through the probationary requirements while she was in school so I was forced to surrender my license. A voluntarily surrendered license requires 2 year wait before reapplying. I waited my 2 years and reapplied in Oregon instead of California as we had planned to move to Oregon in the near future. Oregon has just granted my nursing license unencumbered and they were a pleasure to work with by the way, they were very nice reasonable people. After I submitted my application there was a brief discussion followed by a complete lists of requests and an interview, all done within 1.5 months, AMAZING! So long story long, it turns out we are stuck, and I do mean STUCK, in California for a few more years. I am considering applying for license by endorsement in California. Does anybody have an insight as to what I can expect? I assume a probationary term is expected as I didn't fulfill California's punishment the first go? If I am given probation again in California would it effect my standing in Oregon?
Thank you in advance for any insight anybody is able to provide.
