Hello,
I am an RN working on my graduate thesis which has to deal with the shortage of nursing school faculty in the state of CA. I would like to get as many RNs as possible to respond to a general survey that I am conducting regarding nursing education as a potential area of interest. I am attaching the questions, and if interested, please respond to the 10 questions. I believe this is an acceptable forum as I am conducting research for my thesis.
To all of you who are willing to assist me in this endeavor, thank you in advance!
This questionnaire asks important questions about a career as a nurse-educator.
1. Is nursing education for you?
(1) Strongly Agree (2) Agree (3) Disagree (4) Strongly Disagree
2. Is your educational background and experiences enough so that you can teach in a school of nursing?
3. Are you open to alternative educational programs such as online programs to fulfill your educational requirements necessary for teaching?
4. Are you well organized and flexible, as more nursing programs move away from traditional teaching and learning styles to more computer savvy, high-tech settings?
5. Are you aware that nurse-educators are in such short supply?
6. Do you wonder if you would make a good nurse-educator?
7. As a nurse, you teach people every day. Do you enjoy helping others improve their job performance through the teaching/learning process?
8. Did you know that nurses with graduate degrees are less likely to choose teaching than in the past because so many other options are available to them?
9. Are you aware that incentive programs are in place to increase salaries of nursing school faculty to help attract them to education?
10. Would you encourage others to become a nurse?
Thank you for your time in the completion of this survey.
