I had already registered online in Pearson Vue but I think I'm not yet eligible to take the test. Is there an expiration date for my registration at PV?
I received a letter from CA BON requesting for new requirements such as:
SS number
Local license in the Philippines
Copy of ur clinical rotation schedule for your cases: Assisted/Actual deliveries, cord dressing, and major/minor surgeries
A complete school curriculum hundred pages or more sent directly from ur nursing school to the board. (the board doesn't accept the condensed version of the curriculum
A one-page curriculum outline and academic calendar.
Fortunately, I had the first 2 requirements but I am worried that the last 3 will take time to be accomplished.
I am wondering if it's just me who have this requirement. Most of NCLEX passers I know weren't required on those listed above. It's really hard to focus on review while your thinking of this
It would depend on what state you are applying for. If in California, no. Not really. Just got to have your SSN, and you completed your cases on the same year with the same lectures. If you are applying for states like Vermont or Texas then yes you need to have a license and experience.

Oh sorry I haven't really researched on that one. i'm trying to look at universities here in California and their hours on psyche theories and I can''t seem to find one good description. Did you manage to completely attend the whole theory though? you may be safe.

Oh wow, you're so lucky! The things I'd give to have concurrent cases with theories. I wasn't informed until my 4th year. The only thing I can do now is apply out of Ca.

Yes i did. But i heard one of my schoolmate got denied because of that and the CaBON required him to study again..

I might study AGAIN and make up for it. Ughhh. Im also considering LPN.. I am so stressed out and Im too scared to pass my application.
Hi there KurtRN, i believe it is required to pass your clinical cases, and if you don't there's a huge possibility that the CA BRN will request for them. Did you by any chance complete your cases within the time frame of their corresponding lectures? Will having an local license be an advantage? In California not so much but if you are applying to other states then yes. States are now requiring license to where they were trained in. Some states also started to require a minimum of 2 years experience to sit for the NCLEX.
Just as long as your cases are completed within the same year of the corresponding theory then you'll be fine. A Social Security Number is also needed. and if you do get your ATT pass the NCLEX on the first try.
I may have a problem with my PRC cases. Some are not in accordance with the time I took up the appropriate nursing major. Although I have some spare OB cases in my RLE record which I earned during my second year. Can I use those cases even if I have NOT used them for my PRC application? How exactly should I mail CA-BRN my clinical cases?
Oh that's a tough one. I think the school will also provide a copy of your cases once you send them the request forms. My dean informed me that with the previous students applying for the NCLEX the CA BRN also requested the school to send a copy of their cases. To see if your passing true and relevant information. This is the tricky part. If you do manage to use your spare cases and the school submitted a copy of your original intended cases for the prc then you may have a problem. Before you left the school did they ask you to photocopy your cases and clinical rotations so they can keep a copy just in case the CA Boards ask for information.

Before graduation all of us were required to produce three sets of PRC cases. One for the Philippine NLE, another for school records, and a set for us to keep. But I'm not quite sure if my school has included copies of my clinical cases for the sake of application. If all else fails, would it be wise to apply in Nevada instead? I'm not bringing up the thought of reciprocity here. Just merely being licensed in Nevada. Or if you don't mind, give me a list of states I could easily apply in. I chose Nevada 'cause it's the closest state to home which does not require concurrency if I'm not mistaken. Thanks!
