You can't (or should not be able to) retake a course that you got a passing grade in. They probably average the four courses together anyway.
Hi all, I was just re-reading the CSULA ELMN program admission requirements and noticed that under the "ELMN Procedure Requirements" tab it says the following:
"GPA of at least 3.0 in the four science pre-requisite courses: Chemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology."
But, under "ELMN Introduction" tab, it says:
"Science pre-requisite courses with a GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred"
Js408, you are probably right about not being able to repeat a course I got a C in, I hadn't thought about that. And thank you, nneokill175, I also had not thought that they might just average the scores. I just totally PANICKED! But it makes sense now.
Thanks VERY MUCH to you both for your replies!!
I wonder if there is anyone out there in the CSULA program who got a C in one of their Science courses...
our school does it like this.. but since your in california..i believe or maybe another state...we would calculate it like this..
anatomy 4X4=16
physiology 4x4=16
chemistry 4x2=8
micro 4x4=16
total is 56/16 =3.5 but i dont know if yall do A+ C+ B- etc.. but thats how it would work if you were in texas.. so if its like that there.. you're fine. thats if you had all As and 1C
but using your grades... it would be this. 3.25 so you're good!!!

I got a C in Chemistry
it was the first pre-req I took towards nursing school. So far I have A's in Micro and Anatomy and am currently registered in Physiology with a solid B and the potential to get an A... Do you think I should retake Chemistry? If I do take it over again it it's going to be VERY difficult doing so since I work full time and have very little time (what else is new, right? I know you all hear me on this...). I still need to take more pre-reqs this summer in order to apply in the fall and this would only make matters worse!
Your thoughts are greatly appreciated!
