C+ in AP III Should I retake it?

I go to a school with trimesters, so this last term I did poorly on an exam and a lab exam and got a C+. I have a B+ and a B in the other AP courses. I'm applying to get into an Accelerated BSN program and some do not specify an exact grade but I know most of the programs are highly competitive... Should I retake it? Did anyone get into their program of choice with a C? I know its not going to be removed from my transcripts but I feel like this ruined my chances of getting into nursing school either way. I'm devastated. My GPA for my pre-reqs before this was a 3.7 and a 3.56 for my overall.

If you are able to repeat it, I would try to raise the grade.

I would also re-take it after understanding where you had trouble. This is information you'll need to know as a nurse anyway so it won't be time wasted.

Some programs require a B average combined for all of the science prereq's, which would mean an A in another science (Micro, Chem, etc...) would cover you. If that is the last class you need to take, why not apply now, then plan on retaking the class if you don't get in?

I wouldn't say you've ruined your chances by getting a C+, but you may have to overcome it by repeating -- and if you're determined, what's another trimester (or semester) in the scheme of things? Repeating a class is done all the time, so don't feel too bad about having to do that -- especially if doing so moves you closer to your goal. :)

Good luck!
