For those of you who are not aware, I took Chemistry 101 with Lab and Anatomy and Physiology 1 with a Lab together over an accelerated Summer 1 (6 week) semester .. I pulled a B in Chemistry and a C in A&P.
I will NEVER do two labs in a semester again, I was in hell for 6 weeks. On a lighter note, my baby girl is strong and healthy, due August 15th!
My concern, is my C in Anatomy 1.. Although I am continuing onward to A&P 2 for the upcoming accelerated Summer 2 semester (already paid).. do you think I should retake A&P1 to increase my chances into nursing school?
The baby is due 2 days after the last day of finals in the Summer 2 semester, I'd hate to retake AP1 just for a "better" grade with a newborn...
Let me know what you think.

Give A&P 2 a shot first and if you pass it with an A then I definitely wouldn't retake A&P 1. If you get no less then a B then that is still good too (it shows improvement from a C), just also keep your grade up in Chem 102 with no lab to keep the odds in your favor.
However, retaking A&P1 increases your chances of getting an A or B since the knowledge has already been drilled in your head and you'd be able to recall it better ( you would also have the old graded work you could look through and review for a test).

Depending on what your program's policy is on retakes I would consider retaking A&P 1. Does your school take the highest grade, or do they average the two? Does the school give you less points for repeating a class? Will you be able to retake the class, some schools will only allow you to retake a class only if you failed. Would you be able to dedicate the time that was needed for the class during the second summer semester or may it be wiser to do the class in the fall over a longer period of time? If you are able to see about meeting with your advisor before the second summer semester starts to see what they say. What you learn in your A&P classes are going to be the foundation of knowledge that you use in nursing school and in your career as a nurse, so you want to start building a strong foundation now.
Good luck, and congratulations with the upcoming addition to your family.
The other thing to think about is why did you receive the grade that you did? Was it because of the course load you were taking with both chemistry and A&P that made it difficult for you to give the time that was needed to study.

Find out if your program offers a "replacement" for your pre clinical sequence. At my school, one of the four prereqs for admission could be replaced for a GPA boost.
Our requirements for the application were:
•A&P 1
•Eng 101
•Psych 101
•College algebra
If you earned a better grade in a higher level in these classes:
•A&P 2
•Eng 102
•Developmental psych
•Statistics
We were able to replace the grade for one course with the higher grade from the above. For me, my A&P 1 was replaced by my A&P2 grade for my clinical application.
